Description: Victorian 14k yellow gold and cobalt blue enamel brooch with a lift out compartment in the back, the compartment would have likely held held a lock of hair or some other personal memento. The detail is stunning with fine gold granulation bead work. The gold Maltese cross decoration is adorned with eight small and four larger genuine pearls, all set against a background of the gorgeous deep cobalt blue enamel. The cross is surrounded by gold bead work and sits on top of a scalloped blue enamel and gold background. Brooch has a movable hinge to which a small chain and engraved Victorian 9k gold lingerie pin is attached. The lettering on the lingerie pin is illegible and it is likely not original.
