Description: Locket, unmarked. 1870's-1880's brass frame locket with oval pieces of banded agate, a different stone on each side. The agate is rust with bands of gray and white. See left for pictures of both sides. There is no glass or bezel on the inside, it doesn't appear that there ever was. You see the backs of the stones when the locket is open. The chain is original, it's very long and delicate with small brass beads linked by thin wrapped wire, no clasp. Appears to be hand crafted.
Size: Locket: 1" x 1 3/16" x 1/4"; chian: 36"
Condition: Very good; no chips or cracks in the agate. The chain has some of the thin wire wraps re-twisted and there are a couple of very tiny dings in the brass frame of the locket.
