Description: Victorian mourning brooch, c. 1860-1880, unmarked. Oval gold filled mourning brooch with a glass fronted compartment holding tightly woven brunette hair. The compartment is framed by a black enameled border decorated with blue and pink flowers and green leaves. Brooch is gold filled, back appears to be sterling. Hinge tube pin stem, plain c-clasp.

Condition: Very good, very minor dings on the back, very slight wear to gold fill on the front around the glass edge
